So in a years time I'll make that up on the recurring monthly fee. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our rules and check our regularly-updated wiki before posting. Depending on the client's size on-boarding takes 20-50 hours to complete. However, I do require new clients to sign a 1 year contract so I can recoup the time spent on on-boarding. All of my clients are on an AYCE (All You Can Eat) recurring monthly managed services plan. I don't do any break/fix work, as it's not worth the trouble. If you're not documenting your client's environment extensively then you're not maximizing your efficiency and profits. Great documentation is the key to running an efficient MSP. Yes, I document every client and would never consider not doing so. Again, in time, as the Syncro RMM continues to mature I may switch over to it. So, I can attach/associate the computer/server to a ticket. The Syncro agent is installed but I only use it to interface with ticketing. So, yes I do have 2 RMMs but I don't do anything with the Syncro RMM. Well Syncro does offer a PSA only package, but it's close enough in price to the PSA + RMM package that it makes sense to just go that route and that is the package I chose. Since you’re a one man show you’ll need to come up with a solution like this too. Now they already have access to everything in a secure manner with MFA. Prior to Passportal if something happened to me and I kicked the bucket my clients would have been screwed. Being a one man show myself your clients are somewhat rolling the dice that nothing ever happens to you like dropping dead or getting hit by a bus. It sounds like you are a new MSP and as such I’m assuming a one man shop/show. I’ve added it as a monthly recurring billable service as well so I’m actually profiting off of it and it’s paying for the entire platform for me. They feel like they’re not held hostage by their IT person/company. It adds visibility into the environment for your client. This has been a real game changer for me. The also have a feature called Site where you can share the client’s documentation with the PoC at each client. It’s by far my favorite tool in my stack. I found Passportal to be the better product and have completely adopted it into my toolset. I tried both IT Glue and Passportal Ocular + Docs. I’ve worked with them on it trying to make it work for me but it’s just not up to par. Their built in documentation module sucks. One thing to note about Syncro that you’ll need to find a solution to on your own. I’m hoping AutoTask will implement trials of their platform now that Datto owns them. It’s rumored that Ninja is working on a PSA, as I’ve read here on Reddit several times, but who knows if there is any truth to it. They push out new features almost every Friday as well and there really isn’t anyone else out there this aggressive with improving their product. I’m a one man shop and don’t have the time to devote to continuously tweaking my PSA. My favorite things about Syncro is how easy it is to manage on your own. In the future, as their RMM continues to mature I may drop Ninja and only use Syncro, but it’s not there yet. You’ve got to find something you like and want to work in as you’ll spend so much of your time in it. I’m fairly certain I’ve tried a few more ticketing systems along the way. I like Syncro better than all these with possibly the exception of AutoTask. I loathe CW.the worst looking GUI of the bunch.Ĭontinuum - not much of a ticketing system but I did like their outsourced helpdesk - will be using their service when I’m large enough instead of hiring a full time person I actually think I would like it but I don’t buy any service/tool I can’t trial firstĬonnectWise - used for 6 years at previous MSP I worked at. I’ve tried the following since I first started my business on :ĪutoTask - they don’t offer a trial, I did a handheld demo and then watched a bunch of YouTube vids of it. I’ve demoed and trialed so many different PSA and ticketing solutions trying to find something that I simply don’t hate working in. So little that they don’t even include s list of them on their site. The eighth, Promys, integrates with virtually nothing. The seventh, Harmony PSA, is ridiculously expensive. There are 8 different PSAs that integrate natively with Ninja.
